Lameness & Sports Medicine
We help horses move comfortably and perform at their best—from pleasure horses to competitive athletes. Our thorough, staged lameness investigations combine clinical examination, diagnostic nerve and joint blocks, objective gait analysis with the Lameness Locator, digital radiography and ultrasound to identify the source of pain and guide treatment. We develop individual management plans that may include joint therapies, regenerative treatments such as PRP, Alpha2EQ, graded exercise rehabilitation programmes and collaboration with your farrier. Whether your horse has a subtle change in performance, persistent lameness or a sporting injury, our focus is on lasting comfort, soundness and a safe return to work.
Dentistry
A healthy mouth is essential for your horse’s comfort, nutrition and performance. We provide comprehensive dental examinations and motorised dentistry under sedation, allowing careful assessment and precise treatment. Beyond routine maintenance, we investigate and manage problems such as fractured teeth, periodontal disease, feed trapping between teeth and equine odontoclastic tooth resorption and hypercementosis (EOTRH). With digital radiography available when indicated, we tailor treatment and ongoing care to your horse’s needs—from young horses developing their adult teeth to older horses requiring extra support to eat comfortably.
INTERNAL MEDICINE

Our services include pre-breeding assessments, ultrasound monitoring, artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and management, and investigation of fertility problems. We also offer mare and foal medicine, and neonatal care, including newborn examinations, assessment of colostrum antibody transfer and treatment of unwell foals. Whether you are welcoming your first foal or managing an established stud, we provide personalised care and practical guidance throughout the breeding season.
Buying a horse is a significant investment, and a pre-purchase examination helps you make an informed decision. Our experienced Sports Medicine vets tailor each examination to the horse’s intended use and your individual requirements, assessing general health, soundness and any findings that may affect future suitability. Where appropriate, additional investigations may include digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and blood testing. We provide a detailed written report and explain the findings clearly, helping you understand their implications and any associated risks. While no examination can guarantee future health or performance, our aim is to give you a thorough, independent assessment before you commit.
